Nick Brandt is a photographer whose aim is to record the disappearing wildlife of East Africa.
In 2000, he began working on a trilogy of photography books in which he captures both the splendour of the East African wildlife and also the threat posed.
The first book, On This Earth was published in 2005, the second, A Shadow Falls in 2009 and the third Across the Ravaged Land in 2013.
I was fortunate enough to come across his work and I have two of the books. As you turn each pages, each image is incredibly moving, powerful and such a melancholy in each images.
Not only does he work brings forward the major issue posed by poaching but also that we are losing such incredible and majestic creatures that future generations will not have the chance to witness and would be a real shame.
Have you guys seen Nick Brandt work?
Below is a video from The Art of Photography that takes you through his book.
